EDMONTON – Born a Catholic, Adam Mickelson left the Church in his teens, but came back "because it was comfortable, familiar."

His wife Trisha was "United, but not part of a church-going family."

She had Mormon friends, started to think about faith, but never found anything that fit her.

"Even after we were married. I was drawn to the Mormon church because that was more familiar to me."

Adam told her to give the Catholic Church a try.

"When I came. I was not intending to convert," said Trisha. "It was an educational process, to understand were Adam and his family were coming from."

But being surrounded by such "good examples of people wiped away any prejudices I had."

As Lent approached, Trisha "started to feel my heart becoming more at peace to going through the sacraments.

"Usually I make things go through my head. This is a thing where I don't have all the answers, don't have all the facts. But I give my uncertainties to God and I am totally at peace with that."

Their family will be united in faith when their baby Heida is baptized at Easter Vigil and Trisha is received into the Church.
