I am replying to David Fraser’s letter in the May 27 WCR (“Same-sex blessings would mellow attitudes”).

Like the killing of unborn children, homosexuality can never be accepted by Christians. If you read the Bible and accept the Lord’s word then you will want to do his will.

In Leviticus 18.22, the Lord said to Moses, “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman, such a thing is an abomination.” In Leviticus 20.13, the Lord says to Moses,” If a man lies with a man as with a woman, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they shall forfeit their lives.”

As well, the Lord tells Moses you shall not steal, you shall not lie, you shall not covet your neighbour’s wife or property. These commandments of God are followed in our country’s laws, and people are taken to task for breaking them.

On one hand, we respect the Lord’s wishes and, on the other, we do whatever we want in the guise of freedom of choice.

We follow God’s rules as long as they fit our lifestyle but ignore them when there is something we want to do that offends him. The Lord says the homosexual act is an abomination to him. He tells us not to do it.

People of the same sex can live together and love each other as brothers or sisters and not offend the Lord. These people are good friends and roommates and our society should respect them as any other people sharing their lives and home.

Homosexuals should be celibate. Anyone having sex out of marriage is fornicating; that is a sin which offends the Lord.
