I agree with Karen Gilbertson (WCR letters, Nov. 21) that we should not judge people’s attire at Mass.

It might occasionally happen that one is returning from the beach just on time to get to the last Sunday evening Mass in the city.

For that matter, we should never judge anyone because only God can read hearts.

However, I believe most have time to dress up for such an important event as Holy Mass.

If Mass, where we worship Almighty God and receive Jesus, his Son, in Holy Communion is not formal an occasion enough, I wonder what is. Basic etiquette and good judgment are good indicators that modesty should be the guideline especially at Mass.
