Rocky parish celebrates Corpus Christi
ERNIE MURIAS
SPECIAL TO THE WCR ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE - Parishioners from St. Matthew Parish here celebrated the feast of Corpus Christi June 6 with a Eucharistic procession through the town.
The walk of prayer and singing was led by cross and candle bearers and first communicants followed by pastor Father Kazimierz Kubat holding the monstrance carrying the Blessed Sacrament and Deacon Bernie Ouelette leading the singing. About 100 parishioners from Evergreen, Caroline and Rocky Mountain House participated. The procession stopped at four prepared altars along the way, at which those present dropped to their knees in reverence of the Body of Christ, and offered prayers for the sick and dying, teachers and students, the community and the unborn. The marchers also prayed the rosary in remembrance of the life of Christ. |
