Couples for Christ holds night for the clergy
SPECIAL TO THE WCR
EDMONTON - Couples for Christ honoured 10 local priests who attended a night with the clergy at St. Andrew Centre July 24.
The event provided 60 members of Couples for Christ with an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing evening of dinner and fellowship with their parish priests and pastors "outside of the pulpit."
The group, whose full name is the Couples for Christ Foundation for Family and Life, planned the event with the help of its spiritual director, Father Nilo Macapinlac, as part of celebrations for the Year for Priests.
Macapinlac was the main celebrant at a Mass that preceded the banquet with Father Ray Guimond delivering the homily.
Other priests attending were Fathers Vic Perron, Patrick Baska, Josef Wrobleski, Philippe Roy, Joseph Murphy, Frank Stempfle, Collins Okafor and Innaiah Bellamkonda. Others invited could not attend due to other commitments.
Among its other activities, the CFC Foundation for Family & Life-Edmonton members travel to Ephphatha House every first Friday to spend the entire night praying and adoring inside the Ephphatha chapel.
Also, every Wednesday afternoon, members of the community silently pray the rosary in front of the Morgentaler Clinic.
