Pastoral appointments for the St. Paul Diocese

Bishop Luc Bouchard of St. Paul has announced the following pastoral appointments on Aug. 29:

  • Father Réal Levasseur, by reason of age, retires from active ministry effective Sept. 2. He will reside at Villa Shalom in St. Paul.
  • Father Roger Sicotte, pastor of Saint-Jean-Baptiste of Morinville is appointed pastor of St. Alphonsus of Boyle, Our Lady of Perpetual Help of Prosperity and Holy Rosary of Buffalo Lake. This is effective Sept. 2.
  • Oblate Father Ignacy Warias, pastor of St. Louis in Bonnyville and Our Lady of Mercy in Kehewin is appointed pastor of St-Jean-Baptiste Parish of Morinville effective Sept. 2.
  • Father Mario Jubinville, assistant pastor in Bonnyville is appointed pastor of St. Louis-de-France in Bonnyville and Our Lady of Mercy in Kehewin effective Sept. 2.
  • Father Peter Tran, chancellor, administrator of the parishes of Clyde, Thorhild and Radway is appointed pastor of Sacred Heart of Saddle Lake and St. Laurent of Brosseau effective Oct. 7 while continuing as chancellor. He will reside at the Pastoral Centre.
  • Father Jose Chirappanath, a Carmelite of Mary Immaculate, pastor of Saddle Lake and Brosseau is appointed pastor of St. Patrick of Clyde, St. Anne of Thorhild, St. Joseph of Radway and Sacred Heart of Egremont. This is effective Oct. 7.
  • Father Paulson Kannanaikal, a Carmelite of Mary Immaculate, newly arrived in the diocese, is appointed assistant pastor of St.-Louis-de-France in Bonnyville and Our Lady of Mercy in Kehewin effective Sept. 2.
  • Basilian Father Clarence Erwin Watrin is appointed chaplain in residence of the John Paul II Bible School in Radway effective Sept. 2.
