Special to the WCR
Loretta Friesen received the Bellelle Guerin Award at the annual Holy Trinity CWL windup celebration on June 9.

The award is given to a member with at least 25 active years in her council, having served on the parish executive and diocesan executive.
Friesen demonstrated her love of the league through exemplary and extraordinary service.
Friesen worked in the Grouard-McLennan Archdiocese where she, as diocesan secretary, arranged for her husband who had a pilot's licence, to fly the executive to meet the native people, whose mission her parish council had adopted.
In the Edmonton Archdiocese, Friesen was the charter president of Holy Trinity Council in Spruce Grove-Stony Plain. She also taught conversational English to immigrants and refugees in Edmonton.
A member since 1962, Friesen continues working tirelessly keeping the spirit of the league alive.
As a member of Holy Trinity council, she was instrumental in setting up a state of the art kitchen, is funeral lunch coordinator, is presently sacristan and very active in many works of the parish.
