Black light Stations
|
In preparation for Holy Week, Ecole Father Jan in St. Albert presented Led By The Light, a 45-minute drama about the death and resurrection of Jesus March 13. Some 45 students participated in the Easter production, which used the black light theatre concept to recreate the 14 Stations of the Cross followed by Jesus' Resurrection.
In black light theatre, the actors wear black clothing and act with objects - in this case the cross - against a black background, so they blend in. The objects glow in the light of a backlight.
Five different students represented Jesus in the production, which was shown to students and the community. After each station, a narrator read a reflection on the meaning of such station for the students' own life.
