Abortion is one of the most pressing challenges facing the Church, says the new bishop of Pembroke.
"It's a difficulty that's unseen, it's a difficulty that's wreaking havoc in our spiritual lives, in our nation and throughout the world," Bishop Michael Mulhall told reporters following his Sept. 21 installation.
The 45-year-old new bishop is the successor to Edmonton Archbishop Richard Smith in the mainly rural diocese straddling the Ontario-Quebec border.
Smith was one of the two dozen bishops from all parts of Canada who attended the installation.
