Priest appointments to take effect Aug. 8
The following pastoral appointments in the Edmonton Archdiocese will take place Aug. 8:
- Father Patrick Baska, current pastor of St. Alphonsus Parish, Edmonton, becomes archdiocesan vocations director.
- Father Marc Cramer, current associate pastor of St. Joseph's Basilica, becomes administrator of St. Stephen Parish, Lacombe.
- Father Wilson Eerothara, current associate pastor of St. Theresa Parish, Edmonton, becomes pastor of St. Alphonsus Parish.
- Salesian Father Kazimierz Kubat current associate pastor of St. Thomas More Parish, becomes pastor of St. Matthew Parish, Rocky Mountain House, and attached parishes in Caroline and Evergreen.
- Father Thomas Maliakkal, current pastor of St. Angela Parish and St. Pius X Parish, Edmonton, having completed his mandate in the Edmonton Archdiocese, returns to his home diocese in India.
- Father Paul Moret, current archdiocesan vocations director, becomes pastor of St. Angela Parish and St. Pius X Parish, Edmonton.
- Father Paul Payyapilly, current pastor of St. Matthew Parish, Rocky Mountain House, and attached parishes in Caroline and Evergreen, having completed his mandate in the Edmonton Archdiocese, returns to his home diocese in India.
On Aug. 15, two more appointments will take effect:
- Dominican Father John Nguyen, current pastor of Queen of Martyrs Parish, Edmonton, is given a new assignment in Calgary by his religious community.
- Dominican Father Peter Tran becomes pastor of Queen of Martyrs Parish, Edmonton.
Other recent clergy appointments in the archdiocese include:
- Father Sunny Sebastian became associate pastor of St. Theresa Parish, Edmonton, on Feb. 15.
- Oblate Father Leon Kler became administrator of St. Emeric Parish, Edmonton, on April 15.
- Father Grzegorz Przewrocki returned to his home diocese in Poland on May 1.
- Father Nilo Macapinlac became pastor of St. Martin of Tours Parish, Vegreville, Holy Heart of Mary Parish, Viking, St. Gregory the Great, Holden, and attached churches of Mundare and New Kiev, on May 2.
