Clergy appointments for the St. Paul Diocese

Bishop Luc Bouchard has announced the following clergy appointments for the St. Paul Diocese effective July 2:

Retirements:

• Msgr. Robert Poulin, 78, is retiring from active ministry after being pastor of St. John the Baptist of Morinville for the past 15 years. He has been a priest for the past 53 years.
• Father Father Lucien Morissette, 76, is retiring from active ministry after being pastor of St. Gabriel, Athabasca and St. Catherine, Rochester for the past 27 years. He has been ordained for 52 years.
• Father Matthias Lugowski, 70, is retiring from active ministry after being pastor of St. Emile of Legal, Our Lady of Victories of Vimy and Our Lady of Mount Carmel of Waugh for 12 years. He has been ordained 42 years.
• Father Anthony O'Riordan, 73, is retiring from active ministry after being pastor of St. Patrick of Clyde, St. Anne of Thorhild and St. Joseph of Radway. He has been ordained for the 16 years. This is effective July 2.
• Oblate Father Camillo Prosdocimo, 80, is retiring from active ministry. He was pastor of Sacred Heart of Saddle Lake and St. Laurent of Brosseau. He has been ordained for the 53 years. He will return to his native country, Italy.

Pastors:

• Father Roger Sicotte, rector of the cathedral, is appointed pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish, Morinville.
• Father Paul Moses Chakkalackal, assistant priest in Bonnyville, is appointed rector of the cathedral in St. Paul.
• Father Hong Kim Nguyen, pastor of St. Isidore of Plamondon, St. Philippe of Atmore and St. Teresa of Breynat is appointed pastor of St. Gabriel of Athabasca, and St. Catherine of Rochester.
• Father Damian Nwachukwu, smmm, is appointed pastor of St. Emile of Legal, Our Lady of Mount Carmel of Waugh and Our Lady of Victory of Vimy.
• Father Jose Chirappanath, pastor of St. Catherine of Lac La Biche, St. Anne of Venice / Hylo and Sacred Heart of Beaver Lake is appointed pastor of Sacred Heart of Saddle Lake and of St. Laurent of Brosseau. He will also be assistant at the cathedral parish and will reside at the cathedral parish.
• Father Zbigniew Bebenek, administrator of St. Joseph of Fort Kent, St. Michael of Elk Point and St. Eugene of Fishing Lake is appointed pastor of St. Patrick of Clyde, St. Anne of Thorhild and St. Joseph of Radway. He is also appointed chaplain of the John Paul II Bible School of Radway.
• Father Sabinus Iwu, pastor of St. Jean de Br‚beuf of Mallaig, St. Helen of St. Lina and St. Vincent of St. Vincent is appointed pastor of St. Catherine, Lac La Biche, St. Anne of Venice/Hylo and Sacred Heart of Beaver Lake.
• Rev. Father Casmir Muobike, newly arrived in the diocese, is appointed pastor of St. Jean de Br‚beuf of Mallaig, St. Helen of St. Lina and St. Vincent of St. Vincent. This is effective July 2, 2007.
• Father Ambrose Umeohanna, assistant priest in Fort McMurray, is appointed pastor of St. Joseph of Fort Kent, St. Michael of Elk Point and St. Eugene of Fishing Lake.
• Father Hippolytus Njoku, assistant priest in Fort McMurray, is appointed pastor of St. Isidore of Plamondon of St. Philippe, Atmore and St.Teresa of the Child of Jesus of Breynat.
