Glen Argan, the WCR's editor and general manager, on March 20 was nominated as the Green Party of Alberta's candidate in the constituency of Edmonton Mill Creek for the next provincial election.

Argan had shared his plans with the WCR's board of directors. As editor of the WCR, he is determined to maintain the integrity of the newspaper. When a provincial general election is called, he will immediately take a leave of absence from his position with the WCR and will not be involved in day-to-day decision-making at the newspaper.

The board of directors supports his decision to stand as a political candidate as well as his continued stewardship of the WCR.
