St. Mark Lions Fight Cancer
Students and staff at St. Mark Junior High School coloured their hair or shaved their heads as part of an effort to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society. Over the course of the two and a half months, 183 students and 32 staff members raised money and awareness.
On Feb. 1, students, staff, parents, cancer survivors, Cops for Cancer, the Canadian Cancer Society, Church and community members came together to bring attention to the disease one last time. As well, the school presented the cancer society with a cheque for $27,251 that it had raised since Nov. 15.
