The downtown St. Benedict's Chapel will open Tuesday, Nov. 14 with a 7:15 a.m. Mass.

The chapel, located on the third floor of the City Centre East Mall across from Sir Winston Churchill Square, aims to provide "an oasis of peace and serenity in a busy world."

The 1,200-square-foot, 54-seat place of prayer will offer three daily weekday Masses and regular opportunity for the sacrament of Reconciliation for downtown workers and shoppers.

St. Benedict's Chapel will be open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday. Mass will be celebrated at 7:15 a.m., 12:15 and 5:15 p.m.

On Saturdays, it will be open from noon until 6 p.m. with Mass at 12:15 p.m.

Archbishop Thomas Collins will celebrate a Mass and formal blessing of the chapel on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 12:15 p.m.

Father Collins Okafor will be the full-time chaplain serving at St. Benedict's.
