Priest appointments take effect August 8

Archbishop Thomas Collins has announced the following pastoral appointments in the Edmonton Archdiocese. They will take effect Aug. 8.

• Father Stan Blaszkowski, pastor in Onoway and attached parishes, retires from full-time parish ministry and returns to his home diocese in Poland.
• Father Leonard Cadieux, pastor in Vermilion, and attached parishes of Clandonald and Derwent, becomes pastor of Assumption Parish, Edmonton.
• Newly ordained Father Marc Cramer becomes associate pastor of St. Joseph's Basilica.
• Father Clement Gauthier, pastor of Assumption Parish, Edmonton, retires from full-time parish ministry.
• Father Richard Hanaczewski, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Jasper, completes his term with the Archdiocese of Edmonton.
• Father Donatus Ihekwoaba, associate pastor in Spruce Grove, becomes pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Jasper.
• Salvatorian Father Stan Lasko, associate pastor of St. Joseph's Basilica, becomes pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Vermilion, and attached parishes of Clandonald and Derwent.
• Spiritan Father Frank Laverty, pastor in Devon, retires from full-time parish ministry.
• Father Mark McGee returns from a sabbatical to become pastor of Holy Cross Parish, Grande Cache, and Our Lady of the Rockies, Suza Creek.
• Oblate Father Roman Nisiewicz replaces Oblate Father Francois Dyjak as associate pastor of Holy Rosary Parish, Edmonton.
• Piarist Father Andrew Rybak, pastor in Grande Cache and Suza Creek, becomes pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Onoway, and attached parishes of Lac La Nonne and Wabamun.
• Father Joseph Vadassery, associate pastor of St. Joseph's Basilica, becomes pastor of St. Maria Goretti Parish, Devon.

Seminarians

• Aaron Roth will serve his pastoral internship at Holy Trinity Parish, Spruce Grove.
• Michael Schumacher will serve his pastoral internship at St. Thomas More Parish, Edmonton.

• Father Félix Kusamba, from Democratic Republic of Congo, became pastor of Paroisse Ste-Anne, Edmonton, on Nov. 22, 2005.
• Father Nilo Macapinlac, newly ordained, became associate pastor of St. Theresa Parish, Edmonton, on Nov. 23, 2005.
• Father Christian Nwaigwe, from Nigeria, became associate pastor of St. Anthony Parish, Drayton Valley, on Jan. 9.
• Father George Nellissery, from India, became administrator of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Innisfail, on Jan. 27.
• Father Michael Blanch became temporary administrator of St. Stephen Parish, Lacombe, on March 13.
• Father Lawrence Agorchukwu, from Nigeria, became associate pastor of St. Anthony Parish, Lloydminster, on March 29.
• Father Gary Lee, newly ordained, became associate pastor of St. Mary's Parish, Red Deer, on April 19.
• Father Jaroslaw Jedrzejewski, currently associate pastor of St. Theresa Parish, Edmonton, returned to his home diocese in Poland on May 23.
• Father Karol Zynel currently retired from parish ministry, returned to his home diocese in Poland on May 25.
