The first Faith, Fitness and Fun 5 km Run/Walk, held on Saturday, April 29 at Rundle Park was a large success for Newman Theological College and St. Joseph Seminary, thanks to you.
Archbishop's blessing
The name says it all: Faith - Archbishop Thomas Collins blessed the participants before the start of the race; Fitness - we partnered with the Running Room to present an official time clock, start-finish line, and race bibs; and Fun - we laughed and played, there was music (by Emagine) and prizes for all ages.
The weather cooperated - not too hot and not too cool, which made everything seem just that little bit more comfortable. Through the steadfast commitment of a dedicated group of volunteers, cash and prize donors, and of course, the walkers and runners themselves, we raised over $9,000.
The "Marr" team of Josée and Michael finished first and second (in that order) closely followed by Thomas Coulas, Father Greg Bittman and Father Stephen Hero.
