Last Updated: Friday - 09/24/2010Week of December 19, 2005Collins urges women to join CWLThe Catholic Women's League fulfils a central role in the life of our parishes, of our archdiocese, and of the Catholic Church in Canada. The women of the League provide leadership in our country in addressing the challenges that face all of us, and especially families, and in dialogue with our political leaders exercise the essential mission of speaking truth to power. We may expect continuing struggles in the years ahead, and the voice of the League must remain strong. Within our own more local community of archdiocese and parish, the members of the League are engaged in every aspect of stewardship, making use of time, talent, and treasure to enrich the life of the parish family, to reach out in the spirit of Christ to those who are most in need, and to provide wise leadership in the work of faith formation. For our archdiocese to be fully able to make Christ present in our community, it is important that in every single one of our parishes there be a dynamic presence of the Catholic Women's League. I strongly urge each woman of the archdiocese to become an active member of the Catholic Women's League.
