CCODP aids disaster areas

The Canadian Catholic Organization for Development and Peace has sent an initial contribution of $100,000 to aid victims of the Oct. 8 earthquake that devastated parts of Pakistan, India and Afghanistan.
The death toll may exceed 30,000 after the quake.
On Oct. 7 Development and Peace sent an initial $200,000 in emergency relief to help victims of Hurricane Stan in Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico.
Mudslides and floods have affected tens of thousands in the region.
Contributions can be made by telephone to 1-888-664-3387, via the Internet at www.devp.org or by cheque marked "Hurricane Stan" or "Pakistan-Asia Earthquake" and mailed to Development and Peace, 5633 Sherbrooke St. East, Montreal PQ H1N 1A3.
