Edmonton native to head CCODP

The Canadian Catholic Organization of Development and Peace (CCODP) has named Michael Casey as executive director, effective January 2005.
Casey brings 25 years experience in international sustainable development on behalf of the poor, both in Asia and in the Canadian North.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Casey was educated at the CollŠge Saint-Jean, the University of Alberta and France's Universit‚ de Poitiers.
For the past 14 years he has worked as a Canadian
Co-Operative Association (CCA) program manager, first in the Philippines, and then in Indonesia.
His work has also involved shorter-term projects in Vietnam, India and China.
Before that he worked with Canada's aboriginal and Inuit communities.
Father Richard Renshaw, who served as interim executive director since last March, will return to his role as deputy executive director.
