Edmonton Catholic School Board trustee candidates
Ward One
Debbie Engel - - Ward One
I would like to thank the constituents of Ward 1 for their support and trust. It has been a privilege to serve. I have:
Served a chair and vice-chair.
Served on the board of directors for the Alberta Catholic Schhols Trustee's Association and the Alberta School Boards Association.
Been appointed by the minister to serve on the Council of Alberta Teaching Standards.
Worked to get the new high school built and renovations for older schools
Served on the CWL executive for education and health.
Presented to the Alberta Learning Commission on the importance of Catholic education.
Been active in parish, school, and community functions.
Stayed accessible to constituents.
Chaired the beginnings of the Genesis project - keeping Catholic education alive for our children and our children's children.
I will:
Continue to serve the best interest of Catholic education; put kids first; work with the government to ensure proper funding and support; and, work hard to ensure our district stays strong through our core values.
Work diligently to ensure the implementation of the recommendations of the Alberta Learning Commission.
Work on a new committee, with parent councils, to build a strong resource book to support Catholic parents.
Keep Genesis alive, to keep Catholic education alive and vibrant.
