Local Christian churches celebrate World Day of Prayer on March 5
Special to the WCR Edmonton
Christians in Edmonton and area, along with those from 170 countries, will celebrate the World Day of Prayer on Friday, March 5.
This year's service, written by the women of Panama, is based on the theme In Faith, Women Shape the Future.
The World Day of Prayer has its roots in an ecumenical day of prayer organized by women in Canada and the United States in 1920. In Canada, the day is coordinated by the Women's Inter-Church Council of Canada.
