Archbishop leads ecumenical mission
Special to the WCR Sherwood Park
Archbishop Thomas Collins will be the featured speaker at Strathcona County's 14th annual ecumenical mission.
Nine parishes of various denominations are sponsoring the mission that will be held Nov. 9-12.
The event will include a series of breakfast, lunch and evening sessions held in Anglican, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Presbyterian and United churches in and around Sherwood Park.
Collins, chair of the Canadian bishops' commission for ecumenism, will make his presentations based on the Book of Revelation. The theme of the mission is Glory to the Lamb.
The ecumenical mission is open to all members of the community and there is no registration or entrance fee. A freewill offering will be taken at each evening session to cover the cost of the mission.
Bring a bag lunch to midday sessions where soup and beverages will be provided. Refreshments and fellowship time will follow the evening sessions.
