Last Updated: Friday - 09/24/2010Week of July 14, 2003Funds sought for clergy retirement home
Dear People of the Archdiocese of Edmonton:We are presently renovating a building to serve as a retirement home for priests of the archdiocese. It will be known as Villa Vianney in honour of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests. It is expected that the renovations will be finished in October, and we will have accommodation for 10 priests. Our retired priests have given many years of priestly service to the people of the archdiocese, and many, depending on their health, continue that service as much as is possible in their time of retirement. Villa Vianney will be a practical way in which the archdiocese can help the priests at this time in their lives. If you would like to contribute toward the cost of the retirement home for priests, I invite you to send a donation marked "Archdiocese of Edmonton - Priests' retirement home" to the Archdiocese of Edmonton, 8421-101 Ave., Edmonton T6A 0L1. Please include your name and address so that we can send you an income tax receipt. Yours in Our Lord |
