Ukrainian parish celebrates its 25th anniversary

Bishop Lawrence Huculak was present April 14 as Exaltation of the Holy Cross Ukrainian Catholic Parish celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Mike Paskoski and Kay Kucher greeted Huculak with the traditional greeting and presentation of bread and salt.
Huculak celebrated a pointifical Divine Liturgy, aided by current and past pastors, Fathers Philip Shinduke, Don Bodnar and John Kratko. About 400 people attended the event, including many members of the founding parish council.
A banquet was held after the Divine Liturgy. Huculak praised the efforts of parishioners to build their parish and encouraged them in their efforts to build a new church, allowing the current building to be used as a banquet facility.
Exaltation of the Holy Cross Parish serves north Edmonton and St. Albert.
