Ordinations set for the spring

The seminary journey for Deacons Michael Mireau and Paul Kavanagh will soon be over when they are ordained priests, April 30 and May 22 respectively.

Mireau, who works at the Archdiocesan Liturgy Office told the WCR a year ago that "to be sure you'll be a priest, you'll never be sure until the actual ordination." But now that the date is set he is excited.

Mireau finished his master of divinity from Newman College with honours and was awarded last year's Joseph MacNeil Achievement Award.

Before coming to St. Joseph, Kavanagh was at the Seminary of Christ the King in Mission, B.C., where he finished his bachelors of arts in philosophy.

While finishing his master of divinity at Newman College, Kavanagh is assigned to be a member of the parish team of Good Shepherd.

Ordination date for Deacon Joselito Cantal, a parish team member at St. Theresa, is yet to be announced.
