Booklet stresses beauty of marriage
Canadian Catholic News
At a time when traditional marriage is being tested in the courts, the Catholic Organization for Life and Family has produced a booklet it hopes will provide "convincing responses to questions about the significance of marriage."
Entitled, In Love for Life, the 44-page publication is a reflection paper on the conjugal, social and religious significance of marriage.
"We affirm that marriage is a unique and exclusive public commitment between a man and a woman whose love overflows in fruitfulness, and ultimately brings children into the world," said the booklet's conclusion.
"Not only does the institution of marriage have a future, marriage is essential for the future of our very society."
"It is our deepest hope that this text will become a source of reflection for all people who are closely or even remotely concerned with the future of marriage," said COLF, which is jointly founded by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Knights of Columbus.
The book answers questions dealing with the reason that people marry, love within marriage, and the advantages of getting married rather than living together.
In Love for Life may be ordered directly from CCCB Publications at $9.95, plus taxes, shipping and handling, by phone at 1-800-769-1147, by fax at (613) 241-5090 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
