Food bank drive

The weekend before the Oct. 10 food collection, Father Len Cadieux, basilica rector, introduced a "reverse collection." Parishioners drew slips of paper, each with a food item on it, out of the collection baskets. They brought everything from canned soups to shoelaces and placed each item at the altar.
The basilica hosts a food bank drive every Thanksgiving, but this is the second year of the reverse collection.
