Families, schools parish come together in Ardrossan

Father Don Stein of Sherwood Park celebrated a noon Mass for families of Holy Redeemer Catholic School community in Ardrossan on Saturday, Sept. 11.
It was the second annual family Mass and picnic held at the school. A project of the school council, the first event held a year ago was so successful that the council voted to hold the event annually.
Stein reminded those in attendance about the importance of parish, home and school prayerfully working together for students. Prayers for the 1999-2000 school year were included.
The school choir provided the music while families and teachers performed liturgical ministries and brought the gifts to the altar.
A collection was taken for the inner city Headstart program.
Following the Mass, families enjoyed a picnic lunch, games and a treasure hunt.
