Hanson heads St. Paul CWL

Kathy Hanson of Morinville was elected president of the St. Paul Diocesan Catholic Women's League at the league's annual convention here April 17.
"I feel excited and a little overwhelmed by the new responsibilities which lay before me," said Hanson who replaces outgoing president Lynne Persson.
Hanson said the league will promote vocations in the diocese and help the poor.
She also intends to urge local councils to follow up on national and provincial resolutions.
The convention drew 103 women from across the diocese.
They approved a resolution on nuclear waste management.
Archbishop Thomas Collins, former bishop of St. Paul, addressed the convention on Father Our Refuge. Connie McBride and Sandra King of Edmonton led a workshop on Women of the Bible.
Msgr. Robert Poulin celebrated the convention Mass which was followed by a banquet with Agnes Bedard of Calgary as the guest speaker.
