Kneel, and show your reverence to your God

Why do I kneel during Consecration at Mass? Because the great miracle is about to take place. Christ will come down from heaven and be present body, blood, soul and divinity in the small white host and wine.

Oh the tremendous love of Christ for his erring children.

I feel it is a more reverent and appropriate way of adoring my saviour and God come down from heaven instead of standing. After the priest consecrates the hosts and wine he genuflects.

The three kings or wisemen entering the stable fell to their knees offering gifts and adoring Christ.

This is just one place in Scripture where kneeling is given to Deity.

Maybe we could learn something from the Muslims, who are not fortunate to have the holy sacrifice of Mass and Christ present in the eucharist.

Yet when they go to pray, they get down on their knees, bow their heads to the ground and pray. This is a reverent approach before God.
