As a member of the Catholic community I have experienced the value of Catholic education, as a student myself and through my own children.

I want to continue to use my vision and leadership abilities as trustee to ensure that Catholic education remains viable for future generations and that the message of Christ is permeated throughout the district.

Trustees need to be diligent in ensuring that this right continues to be protected in legislation. I worked extensively to ensure that the constitutional rights afforded to Catholics in Alberta would continue to be upheld in the new Education Act. Catholic education is a precious gift.

As trustee for Ward 76, I have always taken a position as a fiscal conservative with a focus on board transparency and community engagement.

I have been passionate on issues of infrastructure, student health, social justice and meeting the needs of our diverse student body. I have brought many innovative partnerships to the district to streamline costs while improving outcomes.

Given tightening budgets, I will continue to advance partnerships in areas of technology, staff faith formation, professional development and to create infrastructure efficiencies.

I will continue to create strong, innovative policy that serves stakeholders in effective and productive ways and that, at its core maintains a defined strategic direction that results in leading practices.

As I seek your support, I will continue to use experience, energy, passion and creative thinking to grow and improve on what we have. I am proud of the quality and dedication of our staff and the achievements of our students at ECSD, and will continue to work diligently in supporting them.

Please view my website to see the many policies I have put in place that echo my commitment to trusteeship, my desire to serve and that have positively impacted learning.

I was an administrator, teacher and coach for Edmonton Catholic Schools for 39 years.

I am passionate about public Catholic education and tremendously dedicated to addressing and serving the needs of our students, parents and staffs within our Catholic school community in a different role - that of a trustee.

One of my goals is to ensure our students have the skills and knowledge not only to survive but to excel in our rapidly changing global environment and digital world.

Students must understand that their future success is closely linked to their own educational accomplishment, their flexibility and the ability to adapt to change. Life-long learning is not only necessary, but a must for our students.

During my career as an educator, I believe in educating the whole child - mind, body and soul. As a trustee, I want to help ensure that we continue to offer students the highest academic education while honouring their athletic and artistic talents.

Children are a gift from God. What makes Catholic education unique is the daily message of our Catholic values that we impart to our students.

Through Gospel readings, daily prayer, liturgical celebrations, Masses, permeation in classes and the entirety of our Catholic faith, we can instill the message that Jesus Christ gave us, which is to love our neighbour, to help those in need and to live a faithful life.

This is a major part of who we are in Edmonton Catholic Schools.

Our beliefs are defined in part through the numerous social justice events in which our students and staff participate.

Through our actions we demonstrate that we believe in the common good and the value of helping one another. I have always believed in social justice and have promoted many events in the various schools in which I have worked.
