It is hard to understand how one-sided criticism and contentious accusations of Susan Zuccotti can help in interfaith dialogue (WCR, Oct. 14).
Pope Francis has stated that he wants to change the Church so that guidance of the Church is not simply top-down, but horizontal as well.
In the article "Holocaust expert condemns papal silence in WW2" (WCR, Oct. 14), Susan Zuccotti claims that Pope Pius XII failed to speak out or take action to protect Jewish people during the Nazi Holocaust.

I was very interested in the article in the Sept. 30 WCR concerning the trustee candidates.
The archdiocese has recently posted the reassignment of priests to a few parishes replacing vacancies due to resignation and/or for health reasons.
I am responding to the article "Native women murdered, missing, children forgotten," by Andrea Ledding (WCR, Sept. 16).
On Oct. 4, Catholics and many others celebrated St. Francis of Assisi. Caring and advocating for our suffering earth, we call on Francis as a patron of ecology and environmentalists.
