I want to share with my brothers and sisters in Christ that on Aug. 15, the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, another group from St. Theresa Parish made their consecration to Our Blessed Mother.
Mass was celebrated by Father Michael Schumacher, the associate pastor, and it was a celebration of faith and witness to others.
The consecration, written by St. Louis Marie de Montfort, was met with great joy in my heart.
For a year and a half, our group came together every Monday. Some came from other parishes, like Devon, Beaumont and Assumption Parish.
The class ran from 10:15 a.m. to noon with lessons taken from the book Echo of God by Father Lance Harlow. We studied in the church for 20 minutes or more, then we came back together and shared some wisdom among us. At times, we were divided into small groups.
All of this took place under the guidance of our great teacher Colleen McFarland.
Our Blessed Mother is the one who will bring us closer to her son Jesus. Being at the school of Mary lasts a lifetime. Mary teaches us to pray and to visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
St. Louis de Montfort’s books On True Devotion and God Alone should be kept next to your Bible. He is a great saint who still needs to be read today.
