I want to express my gratitude to all those people who have been involved in the process of revising the liturgy. What a huge endeavour and responsibility!
To our pope, for embracing the difficult task of leading, with charity, a very diverse family, thank you; to our bishops, for collaborating with our pope and shepherding us locally, thank you.
To our priests and religious, for being an example of humility, obedience and courage to serve the faithful, thank you, and to all my brothers and sisters in the laity, for sharing your own gifts with a cheerful, trusting docility, thank you.
In my view as a layperson, I count myself as blest to be engaged in this process. Yes, there are and will be "bumps," but in my own experience, the revised liturgy is helping me to be more aware that God is God and I am not.
It has helped me to listen more intently to the prayers of the Church and to respond with increased gratitude. As Catholics, we have been gifted with a very rich, guided and guiding faith – in spite of our own littleness.
